Material Lifting With Blade

Created by Tom Lockhart, Modified on Thu, Feb 29 at 10:35 AM by Tom Lockhart

If you find that your material is lifting while your machine is cutting you most likely have one of these issues:

1. Your blade might be dull, consider replacing it.

2. Your cutting speed may be too high, or you may have the cutter set to apply too much pressure.

3. You are trying to cut something too small/intricate for your machine to handle at the speed you are running, or you might have the wrong blade for the job. If you are doing small/intricate cuts you should use lighter pressure, slower cut speed and a 60 degree blade. If this is an old blade try replacing it. Other things that can cause this are a buildup of adhesive and/or vinyl on the blade/holder or too much blade extending outside the blade holder. Please check out our Blade Setup Guide for further information.
