Once you have installed the software and launched it, you will find an icon that looks like a space shuttle on the top bar beneath the text menus.
Clicking on that will give you the choice to select the "vinyl spooler" - do this.
The vinyl spooler will open, it will look similar to this (except it won't have any jobs listed in the queue list on the left pane since you have not used the software yet).
Click the tab in the right pane labeled "connection"
(if you have not plugged your cutter in to the power and USB and plugged the USB into the computer and turned it on, now is a great time to do so)
Make sure the "Current Cutter" lists your cutter model (How To)
Make Sure that your Connection Method Port Type is Correct based on your cutter model:
|MH Series||Direct USB Port|
|SC, SC2 Series||Direct COM Port|
|Laserpoint Series||Direct COM Port|
|TITAN Series||Direct USB Port|
Note: Even if you have connected your SC, SC2, or Laserpoint Series cutter via USB, your connection will still show up in your computer as a Direct COM Port.
Click on "Detect", ignore the onscreen prompts.
Unplug the USB cable from the computer, it should move from step 1 to step 2 automatically.
Wait about 2-3 seconds and plug the USB cable right back in where you unplugged it from.
It should move from step 2 to step 3 and you should see a green check mark, indicating your cutter was detected and all is well.
