In this case, the Serial number for this Laserpoint 3 is 19OTC33AD0023. For the purposes of figuring out which model you have: 195 or greater vs. 194 or less, you look at the first three characters of the serial number. 

In this case, the first three characters are 19O. These refer to the date that the machine was manufactured, so if you see 19O, 19N, or 19D, those all count as being greater than 195.
